The 200-acre park is located in the heart of Rockwood, the urban centre of the Township of Guelph/Eramosa in Wellington County. “If you talk about the biggest strength in this community, it’s the Rockwood Conservation Area,” says Mayor Chris White.

Rockwood’s population hovered around 900 for years but began to grow in the 1980s. Today, about 5,500 of the Township’s 13,000 residents call the community home. Lured by attractive housing prices and a slower pace of life, many relocated from Brampton, Mississauga and Milton. But some agricultural families can trace their roots back to the 1820s, when Quaker settlers began to arrive.
