Rockwoodâs population hovered around 900 for years but began to grow in the 1980s. Today, about 5,500 of the Townshipâs 13,000 residents call the community home. Lured by attractive housing prices and a slower pace of life, many relocated from Brampton, Mississauga and Milton. But some agricultural families can trace their roots back to the 1820s, when Quaker settlers began to arrive.
