Generally, the best time (time of season) to buy a house is in the late summer or fall. Shoppers will find plenty of homes on the market, but not as much competition for them as in the spring and early summer, when more buyers are on the prowl. So there’s a greater likelihood you’ll get a bargain

Buy in November for a better price
Since more buyers are shopping in the spring, a home you buy between March and May could cost you more than a similar home bought in November or December. According to a Zillow analysis of 2016 listing and sales data, 26% of buyers paid above list price in April while in November, just 15% of homes sold above asking price. The window between late fall and early winter is the best time for buyers on a budget.

Winter is clearly the best season to aim for to obtain the best property for the lowest price and having a pre-approved mortgage in place before you start shopping can make the process even smoother for you
